USER-FRIENDLY PNEUMATIC TOOL SAFETY FEATURE

The new "ThinkTrac TechnologyTM," now offered by Senco Products Inc. on its FramePro® models 600E, 700E and 750E pneumatic framing nailers, provides an extra measure of safety without compromising productivity, according to SENCO®. Using a new microchip, the system "times out" if the fastener is not driven within an allotted time. If the trigger is pulled before the safety is depressed, the tool operates in bottom-fire mode until a one second pause requires resetting the tool. If the safety is depressed before the trigger is pulled, the tool operates in sequential fire mode (only one fastener per trigger pull, eliminating double-firing) until a two second pause requires resetting. For more information, call SENCO's Action Line at 800-543-4596, or visit www.senco.com.

WOOD-RESIN BONDED COATING PROTECTS NEW YARD BARN DOOR

Heartland Industries of Carmel, Ind., a new member of MHI's Suppliers Division, is a leading builder of warrantied after - market accessory storage structures. Three years in development, its new optional Heartland Door features a solid wood frame encased within a thick layer of wood and resin bonded to the frame under high pressure, which according to the company passed a variety of endurance tests. Fitted with locking entry hardware and a continuous metal hinge, the door surface is impressed with a wood grain pattern and is factory pre-primed. The firm produces a full line of backyard storage structures, which are sold through nearly 650 independent dealers. Each structure is built on-site by a trained contractor, can be erected year-round, comes with a two-year labor and materials warranty, and is available with a variety of optional features. Contact Heartland Industries through a local dealer or visit the Web site at www.heartlandind.com.

SECTIONAL POLYPROPYLENE RIDGE VENT

This injection-molded polypropylene vent helps maintain a straight ridge and a consistent amount of vent opening. Made by Benjamin Obdyke Inc., the Xtractor VentTM comes in four-foot sections and is available in two styles: the XLP low-profile designed for fast installation with the use of a nail gun and the X18 which provides 18 square inches of ventilation per lineal foot. Both designs contain an external and internal "sine-wave" shaped baffle that inhibits the infiltration of wind-blown rain and snow. Each section also contains integrated end plugs located every foot to reduce scrap when splicing. For more information or a free brochure, call 800-346-7655. The company's Web site is www.obdyke.com.

COMPACT WATER SUPPLY CHUT-OFF BOX

This product is a welcome alternative to the bulky, unattractive washer boxes that are often used as indoor water supply shut-offs. Measuring 6" x 6", the new Uponor Shut-Off Box can be mounted as shallow as three inches and has a wide mounting flange with pre-set pilot dimples for fast drilling of surface-mounted attachments. Made of heavy-gauge white ABS plastic, the unit's pop-out cover conceals a compact 1/4-turn ball valve, which provides a total seal when closed and improved water flow when open, which traditional stem valves do not permit. The valve is designed to work with Uponor's line of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) water piping. For more information, contact Uponor at 219-266-5558.
